3rd Melaka HOC MAPEX 2019 was held successfully from 1 to 3 November 2019 at Mahkota Parade Melaka. REHDA Melaka was delighted to have YB Alex Seah, Melaka State Assemblyman for Kesidang, representative of YAB Chief Minister of Melaka to officiate the opening ceremony on 1 November 2019, 3 pm.
REHDA Melaka 41 delegates led by its Branch Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua conducted a one-day industrialized building system (IBS) tour to Gamuda IBS Sepang on 24 September 2019 with the objective to encourage the adoption of the IBS system amongst Melakan developers.
On 23 September 2019, REHDA Melaka Branch Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua led a team of REHDA Melaka Committee Members & Branch Hon Advisors comprising Datuk Seri Gwee Yew Kiat, Mr Ngoh Chun How, Mr Tay Sin Wah, Mr Choon Kean Nang, Mr Yeow Hoh Thai, Mr Lau Soon Watt, Datuk Ir Neo Wee Siang, Ir Ooi Kah Huat, Ar CS Loo & Ar Tony Khoo paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Melaka Bersejarah (MBMB) Tn Hj Mansor Bin Sudin. The purpose of the visit was to foster closer rapport between REHDA Melaka and MBMB as well as to discuss on current industry issues faced by developers in Melaka.
On 4 September 2019, REHDA Melaka delegation comprising 4 Branch Committees and 2 Hon. Advisors led by Branch Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua paid a courtesy visit on the new director of [email protected] Jabatan Perancang Bandar & Desa Negeri Melaka (JPBD), TPr. Md Nazri Bin Abdullah to foster closer interaction and understanding between JPBD Melaka and REHDA Melaka.
On 1 August 2019, REHDA Melaka Chairman and Committee Members paid a courtesy call on the Yang Dipertua of Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council, Tn Mohd Rafee Bin Ibrahim at MPHTJ Office. The aim of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation and understanding between MPHTJ and REHDA Melaka.

The three days events was participated by 16 developers promoting more than 2,500 units of properties with a total retail value of approximately RM1.17 billion.

REHDA Melaka 41 delegates led by its Branch Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua conducted a one-day industrialized building system (IBS) tour to Gamuda IBS Sepang on 24 September 2019 with the objective to encourage the adoption of the IBS system amongst Melakan developers.
The tour started with a briefing session steered by Mr Abang Ibrahim b Abdul Rahman of Gamuda IBS on the group’s philosophy and approach in their IBS production and implementation. All the delegates also have the opportunity to visit the factory as to understand better on the process to produce the materials. After the factory visit, delegates visited the Gamuda IBS’s landed and strata show units. With the kind hospitality of Gamuda as to enhance the knowledge of all delegates, we were brought to a Gamuda IBS project site in Cyber Valley for an on-site tour.
The one-day event was truly a successful educational visit to all delegates.

• Requirement of support letter for network facility
• Requirement of conversion premium’s payment receipt for Building Plan submission
• Procedural of earthwork approval
• Proposal to increase the density for high rise housing project, etc.

On 4 September 2019, REHDA Melaka delegation comprising 4 Branch Committees and 2 Hon. Advisors led by Branch Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua paid a courtesy visit on the new director of [email protected] Jabatan Perancang Bandar & Desa Negeri Melaka (JPBD), TPr. Md Nazri Bin Abdullah to foster closer interaction and understanding between JPBD Melaka and REHDA Melaka.
The following ideas and proposals with regards to “Garis Panduan dan Piawaian Perancangan Negeri Melaka (GPP)” were raised: -
a. The new development composition policy for project development above 8 acres in Melaka;
b. To review on the minimum requirement of size, build up & level for free market housing, commercial & industry project;
c. To allow maximum block length of 16 units of terrace houses/shop lots instead of maximum block length requirement of 97.5 m (320’) for terrace houses and shop units;
d. Perimeter planting of 3.05 m (10’) should be requested as separator for different development instead of for all project development. e.g. in between of housing & industry development;
e. To review on the minimum 10% of an area to be developed must be allocated as a solid green open space;
f. To review on the approval of Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) requirement on building height for all project development;
g. To review on the imposition of 20% affordable shop units for all project development, especially those small project with limited number of shop units, e.g. project with only 10 units of shop lots;
h. To review on the second staircase access requirement for 3 & 4 storey shop lots;
i. Clarification on build up area for low cost terrace house;
j. To review on 20% visitor parking lot requirement for high rise projects based on total parking lots instead of number of houses, & etc.

On 1 August 2019, REHDA Melaka Chairman and Committee Members paid a courtesy call on the Yang Dipertua of Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council, Tn Mohd Rafee Bin Ibrahim at MPHTJ Office. The aim of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation and understanding between MPHTJ and REHDA Melaka.
The visit was led by Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua joined by Datuk Seri Gwee Yew Kiat, Mr Ngoh Chun How, Ms Judith Ho, Mr Yow Song Yoong, Mr Francis Sia, Mr Chee Siang Oy, Mr Tay Sin Wah, Mr Yeow Hoh Thai and Mr Henry Chong.
Amongst the issues deliberated were: -
i. Developer being stop by residents to use existing Taman’s road for earthwork.
ii. One-Stop-Centre (OSC)’s system.
iii. Deposit for Common Property Defects Account.
iv. Management & maintenance of low medium cost strata project & etc.
The courtesy visit adjourned with both partied agreed to continue to work closely to enhance the cooperation to improve development in Hang Tuah Jaya for a better future.
