Product Talk by SAM

REHDA Melaka with the collaboration of SAM conducted a briefing session on “How Big Data Impacting the Real Estate Industry” on 4 September 2018 at REHDA Melaka Conference Hall. The 1st session on “How Big Data Impacting the Real Estate Industry” was steered by Mr Jarrod Teo, Data Scientist/ Director of Catalytic Datum from Singapore. While Mr MC Teng Director of SAM shared with the 24 participants on salient features and advantages of SAM - Sales, Analysis, Marketing’s product. It was a fruitful talk, where participants garnered beneficial new knowledge on leveraging clod computing technology & cutting edge software design of a property sales platform.

Press Conference and Booth Visiting Session of 3rd MAPEX 2018

REHDA Melaka 3rd MAPEX 2018 was held from 3 to 9 September 2018 at AEON Bandaraya Melaka. REHDA Melaka was delighted to have YB Dr. Wong Fort Pin Deputy Speaker of the Malacca State Assembly, who represented YB Tey Kok Kiew EXCO of Housing, Local Government and Environment to grace the press conference and booth visiting session. Over 1,764 units of properties valued at more than RM728 million are offered for sale. The Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua took the opportunity to submit REHDA Melaka appeal for the release of completed and unsold Bumiputera quota unis for the State Government consideration.

Engagement Cum Briefing Session with TNB Melaka & ETIQA

An engagement cum briefing session with TNB Melaka and ETIQA was organized by REHDA Melaka on 27 August 2018 at REHDA Melaka Conference Hall. The event was held to foster closer rapport and better understanding amongst TNB Melaka, ETIQA and members of REHDA Melaka. Pn Siti Rohayah Bt. Md Tahir from TNB Melaka shared the salient features of TNB smart meter with the 34 participants. The 2nd session was conducted by Encik Muhammad Rizal Bin on MRRT & house owner product and Maya Motor Takaful product. Participants took the opportunity to raise several issues during the Q & A session. Special thanks to the team of TNB Melaka led by the Head of Customer Service Melaka Retail Division TNB Melaka Ir Ahmad Rezahan Bin Mohammad & Officers of Government Business ETIQA led by the Vice President Encik Roslan Bin Mohd Romli for the collaboration and support towards the success of the engagement cum briefing session.

IEM Melaka’s Visit to REHDA Melaka

REHDA Melaka received the arrival of a delegation from The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia, Melaka Branch (IEM Melaka) on 23 July 2018, 2 pm, at REHDA Melaka Office. The purpose of the meeting was to have a better understanding of the roles each association plays within the property industry and to facilitate a closer working relationship and cooperation between the two associations by exchanging opinions. 9 delegates attended the meeting on behalf of IEM Melaka headed by Ir. Sreedaran Raman Chairman of IEM Melaka, while 10 Committee Members represented REHDA Melaka. The meeting was chaired by Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua, Chairman of REHDA Melaka, who introduced REHDA’s structure and activities to all the 9 delegates. The Chairman also took the opportunity to share the current challenges facing the industry. IEM Melaka via its Chairman Ir Sreedaran Raman, briefed REHDA Melaka Committee Members on the undertakings of IEM Melaka, and shared their views on the property development industry. Both associations also took time to discuss possible cooperation opportunities between the associations for mutual benefits in assisting State of Melaka towards better and sustainable economic development. It was an enlightening visit to foster the beginning of a close relationship between REHDA Melaka and IEM Melaka.

Courtesy Call on YAB Tuan Adly Bin Zahari Chief Minister of Melaka

On 18 July 2018, REHDA Melaka Chairman and Committee Members paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister of Melaka YAB Tuan Adly Bin Zahari. Also in attendance was EXCO of Housing, Local Government and Environment YB Tey Kok Kiew. Branch Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua congratulated YAB Tuan Adly on his appointment as the 11th Chief Minister of Melaka and REHDA Melaka look forward to work closely with the state government for the betterment of the state. Both parties exchanged their views on various issues related to the housing and property development in Melaka including ways to further strengthen working and economic cooperation between private developers and state government. Also discussed was the barrier due to the property title endorsement of “Kod A” as Bumiputera lot and “Kod B” as non-Bumiputera lot. REHDA Melaka Chairman took the opportunity submitted an appeal for the release of completed & unsold Bumiputera properties and a memorandum on the 5 main issues faced by fellow members as follows: - i) Bumiputera quota policy ii) Development composition policy iii) Property selling price Control iv) Land conversion premium v) Establishment of Development Guideline Committee

2nd MAPEX 2018 At Mahkota Parade, Melaka

Melaka Property Expo (2nd MAPEX 2018), with the aim to encourage homeownership, was held successfully from 13 to 15 July 2018 at Mahkota Parade Melaka. 19 developers promoting over 40 development projects in Melaka, Jasin, Alor Gajah and Negeri Sembilan. Over 2,154 units of strata and landed properties valued at more than RM938 million are offered for sale. Lembaga Perumahan Melaka and Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad also participated in 2nd MAPEX 2018 to showcase affordable housing in Melaka. 2nd MAPEX 2018 was officiated by YB Tey Kok Kiew, EXCO of Housing, Local Government and Environment, representing YAB Tuan Adly Bin Zahari, Chief Minister of Melaka. Also present were Tuan Saleh Bin Mohd Dom Executive Director of Lembaga Perumahan Melaka and MAPEX Committee Chairman Mr Choon Kean Nang and REHDA Melaka Most Recent Past Chairman Datuk Seri Gwee Yew Kiat and Committee Members of REHDA Melaka. Affordable housing plays an important role in economic growth. As such, YB Tey is hoping that private developers will continue to develop more affordable housing projects in Melaka as to enable more people to get their dream home as well as to stimulate economic growth. REHDA Melaka Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua said that this second MAPEX 2018 is not just a one-stop centre for visitors to get their dream home, but also to gain latest information about development projects in Melaka. Dato’ Sri Ngoh also urging the State Government consideration for the implementation of more business friendly housing policy and consideration for the release of 933 units of completed and unsold Bumiputera properties.
