1 December 2023 – The Branch had an engagement session with Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB) chaired by SAMB Chief Executive Officer Encik Abdul Rashid Bin Ab Rahman at Wisma Air Melaka. SAMB briefed generally on the new “e-Permohonan SAMB” processes and timeframes. Several issues faced by members were discussed, which including SAMB’s elevated water tank requirement, delay in approval process, cost for pipe laying by developers and etc.

REHDA Melaka representatives also had the opportunity to visit the newly established dashboard system “SAMB Smart Intelligent Command Centre” (SICC) led by Encik Abdul Rashid. The main objective of SICC is to monitor the collection and analysis of various operational data starting from raw water, the distribution of treated water supply across the state as well as consumer complaints, as more accurate data could be received directly to facilitate strategic planning and action by all parties.

It was a fruitful session with the CEO proposing a more precise workshop to obtain industry updates and to discuss challenges faced by SAMB and developers.

REHDA Melaka recently organized a 4-day study tour to Danang and Hoi An, Vietnam, held from 10 to 13 November 2023. The study tour, led by Branch Chairman Datuk Ng Choon Koon, brought together 22 participants.

During the tour, the group explored various captivating sites, including Danang Cathedral, Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge, Bana Hills, Hoi An Ancient Town, and the Cham Museum. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to Hoiana Resort & Golf, Vietnam's first and finest integrated resort, offering stylish accommodation, world-class golf facilities, and exhilarating entertainment.

REHDA Melaka's 2nd MAPEX 2023 took place from October 31 to November 5, 2023, at AEON Mall Bandaraya Melaka. Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad, 21 developers, and Bank Simpanan Nasional participated in the 6-day exhibition to showcase over 3,700 units of various property types, totaling a sales value of RM1.42 billion.

The Opening Ceremony on November 3, 2023, was honored by the presence of YB Datuk Zulkifli bin Datuk Seri Mohd Zin, the Melaka State Deputy EXCO of Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change, and Disaster Management, representing YAB Chief Minister of Melaka. Also in attendance were YB Allex Seah Shoo Chin, Melaka State EXCO of Entrepreneur, Cooperative Development, and Consumer Affairs, Encik Salleh bin Hamidom, Executive Director of Lembaga Perumahan Melaka, Encik Abdul Rashid bin Ab Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad, Datuk Ngoh Chun How, Branch MAPEX Organizing Chairman, Branch Committees, Branch Hon Advisors, and members.

As the strategic financial institution for this MAPEX, Bank Simpanan Nasional organized various engaging activities during the roadshow, including the BSN Got Talent Competition, Singing Competition, Fashion Show, and Local Artist Performances.

REHDA Melaka Briefing Session Series 2/2023 - Energy Commission Dialogue Cum Briefing Session in collaboration Suruhanjaya Tenaga Negeri Sembilan & Melaka (ST N9 & Melaka) for property & housing developers attended by 27 branch members was held successfully on 27 September 2023 at MITC Hotel.

The event commenced with the welcome remarks of Ir Amir Faisah Bin Khamshah Director of ST N9 & Melaka and followed by the presentation of "Domestic Electrical Wiring Installation Guideline & Guide on Electric Vehicle Charging System (EVCS)” steered by Pn Alyaa Binti Zainal Abidin Assistant Director of Safety Regulation, Electrical/Gas Safety Development Unit, ST HQ.

The Dialogue Cum Briefing Session hosted by ST N9 & Melaka concluded with a group photo at the stage of MITC Hotel’s function hall and a thank you note to Suruhanjaya Tenaga Negeri Sembilan & Melaka for the presentation and kind hospitality.

Maybank Ventures recently visited REHDA (Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association) Melaka branch for a sharing session with REHDA Melaka committee members, led by Branch Chairman Datuk Ng Choon Koon on 22 September 2023.

The objective of the sharing session was to gather market insights and exchange views on the current overall landscape of the real estate industry in Melaka. Datuk Ginie Lim expressed her appreciation to REHDA Melaka for the visit and both parties exchanged views on several topics related to industrial sector in the region of Melaka, especially on challenges faced to boost the industry.
