Courtesy call on the new general manager of TNB Melaka was held on 12 January 2017 at TNB Office at Banda Kaba. Aimed to further enhance the good working relationship as well as to discuss matters related to TNB Melaka. Tn Ir Ahmad Rezahan Bin Mohohammad welcomed the REHDA Melaka chairman & committee members for the visit and he is hoping to conduct consistent and proper engagement session between TNB Melaka and REHDA Melaka at least 3 times a year.

REHDA Melaka was represented by Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua, Datuk Anthony Cho JP, Mr Chee Siang Oy, Mr Francis Sia, Mr Choon Kean Nang, Mr Tay Sin Wah and Ir Teoh Kok Eng while TNB Officer attended the meeting including Encik Abdos SalamBin Mohd Isa, Encik Hj Ruslam Hussin, Ms Teo Siew Kim, Pn Azwa Binti Abas & Cik Camilla Lee.

Matters discussed: -

i. Size of Pencawang Pembahagian Utama (PPU) sub station
ii. The imposition of LED street lighting condition for project development in Melaka by MBMB.
iii. Service Level Agreement
iv. Standard & quality of works performed by TNB’s contractor

On 9 January 2017, REHDA Melaka paid a courtesy call on the director of Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Negeri Melaka (JPS Melaka) Tn Mohammad Radzi Bin Abdul Talib. The main objective of the courtesy call was to foster closer working relationship between developers and JPS Melaka. Issues discussed:
• Clarification the gradient of revetment
• Acquisition of discharge
• On Site Detention (OSD) & Kawasan Lapang
• River reserve and set back guideline
• Regional retention pond

REHDA Melaka led by the Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua paid a courtesy visit on YDP of Jasin Municipal Council, Tn Shadan Bin Othman on 23 December 2016 at MPJ Office to forge closer relationship between both parties as well as to discuss the future development planning of MPJ.

REHDA Melaka committee members led by the Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua recently made a visit on YB Datuk Ar. Hj. Ismail Bin Hj. Othman, EXCO of Housing, Local Government, Urban wellbeing and Environment. The purpose of the visit was part of the Chairman’s plan to maintain close relationship with the state government.

Issues regarding the new “Garis Panduan & Piawaian Perancangan Negeri Melaka” & feedback related to housing industry discussed and appealed during the meeting were as follows:

i. The imposition of min lot size, built up & height of building for all project development under free market category.
ii. The maximum block length of 320’ in one block/ row for either residential or commercial development.
iii. The imposition of Perimeter Planting of min 10’ at surrounding of development area for high rise residential development, commercial development.
iv. The requirement of 10% of solid green open space (Kawasan Lapang).
v. The requirement of Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA)’s approval on the building height for all development.
vi. The imposition of 20% affordable shop on residential and commercial development.
vii. The requirement of 2nd staircase for 3 to 4 storey shop units under commercial development.
viii. The setback requirement of min 40’ beside the 66’ main road for commercial complex development.
ix. Other matters: -
a) For any construction/planning of road by the Government, should already include the Bahagian Koridor Infrastruktur (BKI) requirement. The BKI requirement should only apply for main road instead of internal road.

b) Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) should only comment on road access and not to comment on internal road.

c) MBMB imposed LED street lighting condition for project development in Melaka. However, TNB doesn’t allow LED lamp on their TNB concrete pole. LED lamp is only allowed for GI pole only. REHDA Melaka seeking YB Datuk Ar Hj Ismail Bin Hj Othman’s assistance to arrange for a joint meeting between PBT, TNB & REHDA on this matter.

d) The 10’ back lane requirement on SD & bungalow imposed by MBMB.

TM Melaka had invited REHDA Melaka for an exclusive roundtable session which was held on 23 November 216 at Equatorial Hotel Melaka. The objective of the event was to heighten rapport between TM Melaka and REHDA Melaka members as well as to share the latest offerings by TM to the real estate developers. Mr Chee Siang Oy represented REHDA Melaka Chairman Dato’ Sri Ngoh King Hua to deliver a keynote during the event.

REHDA Melaka celebrated its another milestone in its calendar - REHDA Melaka 2016 Installation Night & New Building Fund Raising Night on 29th October 2016 at Hotel Equatorial Melaka. The dinner was graced by the presence of YB Datuk Sazali Bin Muhd Din, Deputy Exco of Housing, Local Government and Environment State Committee, representing the Chief Minister of Melaka. The significant event was attended by over 650 guests including REHDA national treasurer YBhg Datuk Hj Muztaza Bin Hj Mohamad REHDA national council members, REHDA Melaka members, head of government agencies, industry players and other distinguished guests.

The event held to witness the installation ceremony of the new line ups of REHDA Melaka Committee Member for term 2016 to 2018 as well as an avenue to raise fund from the connected stakeholders and members to aid the purchase of REHDA Melaka’s new building. The event also extended REHDA Melaka heartfelt appreciation to its past chairmen, who have paved the way for the association and charted its direction to where REHDA Melaka stands today.

The highlight of the dinner was the successful result of the more than expected sponsorship of RM500,600 for REHDA Melaka new building’s fund received from all generous sponsors of REHDA Melaka. REHDA Melaka thanks all sponsors and guests for their support and contributions to the association in making REHDA Melaka 2016 Installation Night & New Building Fund Raising Night a grand success.
